OVERVIEW

At STEER’s Application Development Centers (ADC’s), competence arising from R & D and other technological forays are tested in real life scenarios, under actual production conditions. Each ADC is a center for progressive research and comes fully equipped with the latest in technology to help our partners and customers create new materials and solutions that help deliver outstanding value and create a better world. STEER has 3 state-of-the-art ADC’s, located in India, the U.S, and Japan.

The STEER ADC team consists of 24 gifted scientists and engineers who are available to partner, collaborate and work with you in the development of advanced materials, processes and applications.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

• New formulation development depending on customer requirements
• Optimising screw configurations for new products as well as existing products
• Optimising formulations of existing products
• Optimising process parameter for existing products in terms of output and quality
• Test runs in the laboratory and production facilities

FACILITIES

STEER Application Development Centers come equipped with extrusion zones that have several twin-screw extruders capable of producing compounds for R&D applications from “gram” scale to “ton” scale. The ADC has proven expertise in adding liquid and solid fillers to polymers including glass fiber, carbon and natural fibers, mica as well as silicones, oils, and foaming agents and very high filling of TiO2 and CaCO3. We also experiment with different screw configurations in order to arrive at optimum results in quality, productivity and power consumption in a variety of formulations.

STEER ADC’s boast a fully equipped line to test a comprehensive range of compounding applications. Facilities offered include;

• Up Stream and Down Stream Equipments — High speed mixers, Tumbler mixer, Dough Mixer, Gravimetric and Volumetric feeders, Liquid Dosing System, Fibre Delivery System, Air knife, Strand Pelletizer, Hot Die Face Cutter, Belt Conveyor, Pipe Line Downstream Equipment, Chilled air conveyor, Grinder
• Compression Press (120 Tons)
