POLYPHENYLENE ETHER BASED ALLOYS WITH IMPROVED WHITENESS

Natural PPE/PS blends have a dark yellow/brown coloration that limits pigmentation to grey tones and black. Both the yellowing and the brown colour is due to oxidation of the PPE (PPE powder begins to oxidize at temperatures well below Tg). At STEER, we significantly improved the PPE by reducing or eliminating the cross-linking phenomenon that occurs while compounding. The result is a product with a much lighter color and significantly less particulate contamination.
